Aston Villa to accelerate move for Lutsharel Geertruida after Matty Cash blow
Ty Bracey believes Aston Villa should make a late move to sign Lutsharel Geertruida after Matty Cash picked up an injury against Arsenal.
The Poland international went off with apparent hamstring injuries in the Villans’ opening two Premier League games and now looks set for a spell on the sidelines.
This could accelerate a move for the Feyenoord star who has been linked with a £30million switch to Villa Park [Matt Maher].
Villa podcaster Bracey believes the Netherlands international would be a positive signing if completed before the 30 August deadline.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Cash is going to be out for a month, that’s a long time to be out.
“I know Konsa can play there if needed but I think Geertruida would be a valuable asset to come into the squad.
“He’s got bags of potential so I think it’s one deal that has got legs and could happen.
“I think a right back could be needed but I think we’d be ok as it stands with what we’ve got going forward.”
Aston Villa could sign Lutsharel Geertruida after Matty Cash injury
Cash began the season as the starting right back under Unai Emery with 18-year-old Kosta Nedeljkovic as his deputy.
With the injury that the former Nottingham Forest man has suffered, the young Serb could be pushed into the spotlight early in his Premier League career.
As a result, looking to force a move through before the 30 August deadline for Geertruida could prove to be a smart move by the Villans.
The 24-year-old has the versatility to feature across the backline and in midfield if necessary which could make him well suited to English football.

It is unclear whether or not a deal will be possible before the window closes but if it is possible then Villa fans will certainly be excited.
