Aston Villa backed to pursue Karim Adeyemi transfer in January – ‘He’s absolutely rapid’

Ty Bracey believes Aston Villa could wait and sign Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund in January rather than in the summer window.

CaughtOffside reported on 27 August that the Villans are considering a move for the 22-year-old but the Bundesliga giants are said to be demanding £42.2million.

The Germany international could prove to be a replacement option for Unai Emery at Villa Park after losing Moussa Diaby to Al Ittihad.

Villa podcaster Bracey thinks that the attacker would be a positive addition but can see a deal being considered in January.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I don’t know how much he could cost, I can’t imagine it would be cheap.

He features regularly for Dortmund, has bags of potential, he’s absolutely rapid and isn’t afraid to take someone on.

He has somewhat similar attributes to Morgan Rogers in a way, strong and fast.

Whilst I understand we haven’t really replaced Moussa Diaby, I think we’ll be ok without him. Maybe it would be nice to have another option there.

We’ll be fine for now but we might dip back in for him in January if we look a bit short and need another option.

Aston Villa could replace Moussa Diaby with Karim Adeyemi

Emery appears to have hit the jackpot by bringing in Rogers from Middlesbrough in January but he isn’t a direct replacement for Diaby in any sense.

Against Arsenal the Englishman featured deeper and at times slotted into the midfield, leaving Ollie Watkins isolated up front.

Adeyemi could be an option for the Villans further up the pitch that gives them a point of difference with the electric pace he has on offer.

It has to be said that there are some areas in which the youngster could improve such as his finishing and general composure.

If anyone could get that out of Adeyemi, there aren’t going to be much better than Emery at Villa.
