Santiago Gimenez transfer claim emerges as Aston Villa send scouts

Santiago Gimenez should pass his medical ahead of a transfer this month to Aston Villa or wherever he joins despite injuries last season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Feyenoord striker’s setbacks were minor last season and he’s already bounced back and should hit the ground running no matter where he goes.

Former Dutch footballer Johan Derksen told FC Update that Villa may look to sign the striker who bagged 26 goals in all competitions last season.

This comes after HITC reported on 21 August that the Villa scouts were in the stands to watch Feyenoord’s 5-1 win against PEC Zwolle with the Mexico international, 23, in action.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientisttold Villa News:

He had a calf and muscle injury last season so that’s something that must be taken into account.

That said, the injuries look relatively minor with him missing a maximum of three weeks so on the scale of things, wouldn’t worry too much about them.

It should not cause issues with his medical either and can expect him to hit the ground running.

Aston Villa do not need Santiago Gimezez

The Villans have Ollie Watkins leading the line and if they were to sign a striker, it would be an understudy or someone who can bring something different off the bench.

The Feyenoord striker is unlikely to settle for a bit-part role as he’s having an incredible time in front of goal and will want regular game time.

It also seems like Nottingham Forest are keen on securing his services and have recently made a bid for him as well, according to the Athletic.

In other Aston Villa news, the club have been given a green signal in their pursuit to sign a Crystal Palace star ahead of the transfer deadline.
