Aston Villa get green signal to seal transfer of Crystal Palace star Jean-Philippe Mateta
Aston Villa will be getting an extremely fit and healthy player should they end up securing the services of Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has given the Villa Park outfit the green signal to seal the transfer of the 27-year-old French striker.
This comes after the Express reported on 21 August that Mateta’s representatives have held exit talks with Palace as he’s eyeing a Champions League club with Villa keen on signing him.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“I’d give Villa the green signal to sign him given his near-perfect fitness record.
“First and foremost, I would attribute it to his off pitch habits and commitment to fitness.
“Secondly, to the fitness staffs he has been working with at Palace and even individually.
“Thirdly, there’s also some luck of not being involved in any major contact injuries.“
Jean-Philippe Mateta would be a solid addition for Aston Villa
Villa should consider signing Mateta for his proven goal-scoring ability, particularly highlighted by his hat-trick against them, showcasing he can perform in high-stakes games.
His physical presence would offer Unai Emery a different tactical option upfront, complementing Ollie Watkins.

The 27-year-old’s desire for Champions League football aligns with Villa’s ambitions, potentially making him a motivated addition and would also offer depth in a season that could see them playing 50 games.
In other Aston Villa news, a groundbreaking transfer claim has emerged as the Villans are now keen on signing a two-time Champions League-winning attacking midfielder.
