Jhon Duran future prediction made after what Unai Emery said at Aston Villa

Dan Bardell believes Aston Villa fans have already forgiven Jhon Duran after his late winner against West Ham.

The Colombia international netted on the opening day to secure three points against the club he had been linked so strongly to.

The 20-year-old’s antics have been heavily criticised by supporters over the summer, leaving them waiting for the striker’s apology.

After his goal, Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell has urged the former Chicago Fire starlet to focus on football moving deeper into the new campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “Most Villa fans have probably already forgiven him after he scored the winner.

The way that Emery is speaking it seems that there is a way forward for the player at the club and ultimately I trust Emery. If he’s willing to work with him then he can put the issues that he’s had behind him.

Some 20-year-olds are mature but Duran is not. He’s made mistakes and there has been problems but fundamentally Villa didn’t know how it was going to go when he signed.

Hopefully he can put everything he’s done behind him now and focus on Aston Villa.

He’s still going to have a job getting into the team because of Ollie Watkins but I genuinely think if he knuckles down he will get chances.

Jhon Duran to be forgiven by Aston Villa fans

It is safe to say that Duran wasn’t a fan favourite throughout the summer as he looked to force through a move away from Villa Park.

The Hammers and Chelsea showed the strongest interest in the Colombian but never reached the Villans’ financial demands for the deal.

This may have proved to be a boost for Emery and Co. given the impact that the striker had off the bench at the London Stadium.

There is a long way to go for the 20-year-old to rebuild his rapport amongst the majority of Villa fans who were left unhappy by his unprofessionalism.

With a clash against Arsenal on the horizon, it is yet to be seen how much he will feature in B6.

In other Aston Villa news, Liverpool would now accept a £40m bid for Joe Gomez before the transfer deadline.
