Samuel Iling-Junior set for swift Aston Villa exit as transfer decision made
Aston Villa are prepared to send Samuel Iling-Junior out on loan for the 2024-25 campaign, according to The Athletic.
The online outlet reported on Tuesday (20 August) that Iling-Junior is exploring potential options prior to the window closing on 30 August.
Iling-Junior online joined Villa from Juventus, alongside Enzo Barrenechea, on 1 July for a reported combined fee of €22 (£18.6m).
The report adds that the 20-year-old will only depart Villa Park over the next 10 days if the right move becomes available.
Aston Villa make Samuel Iling-Junior transfer decision
The double deal for Iling-Junior and Barrenechea was tied into the move that saw Douglas Luiz head the opposite way, even if not officially.
While losing Douglas Luiz was a massive blow, Amadou Onana has since come in, while Iling-Junior looks to be a very exciting talent.
Given that he has already appeared 45 times for Juve, while also featuring prominently in Villa’s pre-season campaign, it seems strange to loan him out.
However, Unai Emery clearly feels he has plenty of other options and the Chelsea academy graduate can therefore continue growing elsewhere.
This is only a loan move – if it indeed comes to anything – and Iling-Junior will be back at Villa Park 12 months from now raring to go.

If it means the youngster can start regularly and show a little more of what he is capable of, then it is a decision that must be backed.
