Aston Villa backed to strike late Trevoh Chalobah loan-to-buy transfer after Chelsea news

Ty Bracey thinks Trevoh Chalobah would be a positive signing for Aston Villa as Chelsea look to force his exit.

The Telegraph reported on 10 August that the 25-year-old has been barred from using the Blues’ first-team training facilities.

With Enzo Maresca’s side looking to push him out, the Villans are set to battle Crystal Palace to land the centre back.

Villa podcaster Bracey believes a loan deal could benefit Villa as an addition to Unai Emery’s squad for the season.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I do think he would suit Villa.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see a loan towards the end of the window for him with an obligation to buy.

He’d bring a bit more physicality and height to the team which is something I think we need.

I definitely wouldn’t turn my nose up at him, he’s 25 as well so about to hit his peak in the next few years. I think he’d be a great addition.

Aston Villa could sign Trevoh Chalobah

A new option at centre-back could be needed at Villa Park with the future of Diego Carlos being uncertain until the transfer window slams shut.

The Brazilian brings physicality to the side which makes him a unique asset in the Villans’ squad. Chalobah could be an ideal replacement who would also suit Emery’s style of play.

Standing at six foot four, the Chelsea academy graduate would be a threat from set pieces while also being positive with the ball at his feet.

The former Ipswich Town loanee wouldn’t start ahead of the likes of Ezri Konsa or Pau Torres but he would add positive squad depth that is needed ahead of the Champions League campaign.

Ezri Konsa’s form for Aston Villa saw him make his England debut earlier this year.

This move could all depend on if Carlos makes a move away but there is no doubt it would be a well-received deal from Villa fans.
