Ivan Toney to be sold as Aston Villa transfer mooted before August 30

Bryan King has insisted that Brentford striker Ivan Toney would be the perfect partner for Ollie Watkins at Aston Villa.

The ex-Villa scout was baffled by links to Crystal Palace star Jean-Philippe Mateta [Express], with Unai Emery in the market for an attacker before the August 30 deadline.

King believes that Toney will be available in a deal worth around £30million, which could be a bargain for someone proven in the Premier League.

“I can’t understand when someone is on the market like Ivan Toney,” he exclusively told Villa News.

“He would be perfect alongside Ollie Watkins, and he isn’t massive money, they’re talking about a decent deal around £30million.

A striker who has scored goals regularly in the Premier League, as I said, I think Tottenham should have gone for him, but he wouldn’t be a bad signing for Villa.”

Aston Villa to sign Ivan Toney?

If you could guarantee that cost for NSWE, this would be an absolute bargain.

With Saudi clubs sniffing around and Brentford likely wanting to cash in to the highest bidder, this is where it would become massively complicated.

Alan Hutton has questioned if Toney and Watkins could play together, but one thing it would guarantee is goals at Villa Park, and with the Champions League added in, they will be needed.
