Alex Moreno to be forced out of Aston Villa after transfer development

Ty Bracey believes Aston Villa will sell Alex Moreno after Lucas Digne rejected a move to Galatasaray.

Social media erupted on 7 August when the Frenchman told to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu he was wrong after suggesting an agreement been reached with Gala.

With the 31-year-old now set to stay at Villa Park with Moreno and Ian Maatsen coming in, Unai Emery’s side are stacked at left-back.

Villa podcaster Bracy believes the Spaniard could now be the fall guy who is forced out before the transfer window slams shut.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “He has rejected a move and said that he’s happy at Villa.

We are a bit heavy on the left side of the pitch so I think it is wise to get one of them off the books. It is all about finding suitable clubs for the players really.

I definitely think we need to get one out as a left back, we definitely don’t need three.

When we’ve spent that much money on Maatsen, you’re going to want him to play games so I think one needs to go.

It looks like it’s probably going to be Moreno now.

Lucas Digne set to stay at Aston Villa

It hasn’t been much of a secret that the Villans want to get Digne off the wage book if they can to help ease PSR concerns.

That doesn’t look likely now but his place as a starting XI regular down to the signing of Maatsen from Chelsea after a great loan spell with Borussia Dortmund.

New signing Samuel Iling-Junior can also function at left back if necessary so that area is too full as it stands.

Moreno appears to be the makeweight despite only being at the club for a year and a half, spending large spells of that out injured.

It is unclear whether either will be moved on but it would certainly make sense from a financial point of view for the club.
