Ollie Watkins start prediction for Aston Villa clash v West Ham United after training images
Ty Bracey is unsure what Aston Villa starting XI Unai Emery will pick for the opening Premier League clash against West Ham.
The Villans begin their campaign with a trip to the London Stadium to face the Hammers in Julen Lopetegui’s first game in charge.
There is a selection dilemma for the Villa manager with new signings coming in and potential fitness concerns.
Villa podcaster Bracey has questioned whether Ollie Watkins will feature but remains unsure about the starting team.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I don’t know what 11 will start against West Ham.
“We don’t really know who’s fully fit and training well. We don’t know who starts at left back, Cash will probably start at right back.
“Is Watkins fit? We’ve seen him in training but we aren’t sure yet. It is important for us to have him available to us.
“West Ham are our bogey team and they have signed a lot of good players.”
Aston Villa ready for opening West Ham clash
The Villans will be looking to build on an overly positive campaign last time out where Champions League football was confirmed.
Having that in the background could affect the fitness of the squad but depth has been added by Monchi and Co. throughout the summer.
The new season begins in East London against West Ham where Villa have typically struggled over the years.
The question that supporters will be wanting to be answered is, is Watkins fit and ready?
The England international scored one of the most iconic tournament goals for his country but didn’t feature for the Villans in any preseason friendlies.
He has been spotted and pictured by the club in training so there is a positive chance that he will feature against the Hammers on Saturday (17 August).
