Jhon Duran told to apologise to Aston Villa fans after ‘hugely disrespectful’ incident

Ty Bracey believes Aston Villa fans deserve an apology from Jhon Duran for his unprofessional behaviour during the transfer window.

The Colombia international shared footage of himself doing a West Ham gesture on a livestream which was unsurprisingly met with negativity from supporters.

Since then, a move to the Hammers has fallen through and the 20-year-old appears to have been handed the number nine shirt at Villa Park.

Villa podcaster Bracey, who has been featured on For The Love of Paul McGrath Podcast, has slammed the striker and thinks an apology is needed to move on.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “With him being given the number nine you would assume he is staying.

Personally, I think an apology of some sort needs to come, he’s been hugely disrespectful to the fans and everyone involved.

Can he move past this? Yeah, but it shouldn’t just be chucked under the carpet and forgotten about.

Whatever goes on off the pitch, fine, but when you do those things publicly for fans to see I just think it’s disrespectful.”

Unfortunately, football fans do remember things and although they can be fickle, they don’t move on easily when they are disrespected.

Duran has found himself in an amazing position, playing backup to Watkins under Unai Emery for a Champions League club.

Considering the striker was playing for Chicago Fire in the MLS just over a year ago, it is safe to say he has had a sharp upward career trajectory.

This hasn’t stopped him from trying to force through a move to both Chelsea and West Ham during the transfer window.

This culminated in him making a gesture to Hammers fans on Instagram before a move fell through.

Bizarrely, Duran has since been spotted wearing the number nine shirt in training which points towards him remaining at the club for the campaign.

This has seen a mixed response from supporters on social media with some looking forward to the comeback while some aren’t forgiving him so easily.
