Aston Villa backed to sign ‘outstanding’ Federico Chiesa as £17m Juventus exit news emerges
Bryan King has backed Aston Villa to sign Juventus forward Federico Chiesa.
The ex-Villa scout has piled praise on the 26-year-old, describing him as an “outstanding” player.
As reported by Calcio Mercato (3 August), Juventus are willing to let Chiesa go for just £17million, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Aston Villa all expressing an interest in the player.
And King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes the Italy international could be a beneficial addition in the West Midlands.
“I think he is a very talented player,” King said.
“There is no doubt that he has quality. I think Juventus would allow him to leave for that money because of the service he has given to them, which has been outstanding.
“He is a big name in Italy, he played in the Euros. He would bring in a lot of experience to the Aston Villa squad. That could be a very interesting addition for Unai Emery.”
Aston Villa to sign Juventus forward Federico Chiesa?
There is no denying that Chiesa is a talented player with experience at the highest level of European football.
Ahead of their UEFA Champions League campaign kicking off, adding a player like Chiesa to the squad at Villa Park would do Emery’s side no harm at all.

He has suffered from injuries since joining Juventus which have derailed his time with the Old Lady somewhat. However, if he can put that all behind him and start afresh, Chiesa could get back to the form which made him such an exciting talent at one point.
For £17million this would be a low-risk, high-reward signing for Villa.
