Lucas Digne exit drama explodes on social media amid Aston Villa speculation
Lucas Digne has confirmed transfer links away from Aston Villa to Galatasaray are untrue.
This came after a report from Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu on 7 August suggested an agreement had now been reached.
Directly replying to the tweet, the Frenchman hilariously confirmed that any reports were incorrect.
He said: “Sorry but no true”
The Villa left-back followed this up with three laugh-cry emojis to force home what he thinks of these rumours.
Lucas Digne responds to Aston Villa exit rumours
There has been no secret that the Villans have been keen to get the former France international’s wages off the books at Villa Park.
A move away looked to be going to happen but the 31-year-old returned to the Midlands and had a role to play last year under Unai Emery.
Moving closer to the Premier League opener against West Ham, it appeared that a move to Turkyie was moving closer for Digne.
Now that the full-back has dismissed these links, he has every chance to feature at the London Stadium in under two weeks’ time.
Considering that he has appearances for Barcelona, PSG, and Roma on his CV for European competitions, the Frenchman could prove to be a useful squad member next season.
The Villans do appear to be looking to move the defender on but as it stands no move appears to be on the cards which may prove to be positive.
