Aston Villa submit bid to seal Maximilian Beier transfer, final decision soon

Aston Villa have submitted a bid in an attempt to seal the transfer of Hoffenheim star Maximilian Beier, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Sports Germany journalist posted on X on Tuesday (30 July) to indicate that Aston Villa, alongside Chelsea, have made an offer. Two more clubs are also said to have made an approach with Bayer Leverkusen in the hunt, but no agreement has been reached.

A final decision is expected to be reached in the next fortnight, with the youngster’s release clause currently being set at around £25.2 million, Plettenberg said.

Aston Villa continue hard push

As you can imagine, Aston Villa are hoping to make massive strides forward during this transfer window. Amadou Onana’s arrival marked a huge sign of their intent, and the same can be said for the introduction of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea. With that being said, they do have to be cautious when it comes to their options up top.

After all, Jhon Duran seems to be edging closer and closer to an exit from Villa Park (Fabrizio Romano, 29 July) and even Cameron Archer could be considering his options. Of course, the presence of England star Ollie Watkins is always going to ease any concerns given his record last season and the momentum he’s carrying.

Unai Emery knows that there’s a lot of pressure on the boys from the second city. They’ve managed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, but it’s all about how they manage the new expectations that are on their shoulders.
