Al Hilal want Aston Villa star Jhon Duran as new transfer decision made
Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have entered the race for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The journalist reported the news on X [29 July] after Barcelona starlet Vitor Roque turned down the Saudi club’s contract he was offered.
Duran is one of many strikers who the club have requested information on in new approaches, but the Colombian still wants to join West Ham.
Jhon Duran needs to leave Aston Villa as soon as possible
The transfer saga of Duran has been ongoing throughout the entirety of the summer transfer window.
The Colombia international has been linked with a plethora of clubs as he seeks more game time.
It was reported on 28 July that the striker had actually rejected an “Incredible” proposal from a Saudi team [Sunday Mirror, 28 July, pg 71] but no club was specifically mentioned.
Although when called upon Duran performed fairly well for the Villans, the problem lies with the fact that he doesn’t see himself getting in over star man Ollie Watkins this season.
And, despite being just 20 years old and having plenty of time to develop and challenge for the starting role, the Colombia international believes that he deserves to be starting week in and week out.
His desired destination is the London Stadium, especially after appearing to livestream himself making the ‘Hammers’ gesture.
He has since been told that he could face disciplinary action [BirminghamLive, 27 July] and will have now no doubt booked himself a one-way ticket out of Villa Park.
