Aston Villa rebel Jhon Duran responds to ‘incredible’ Saudi Arabia offer
Aston Villa rebel Jhon Duran has responded to an “incredible” offer from Saudi Arabia amid plenty of interest from West Ham United, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The paper reported via its print edition (28 July, page 71) that the Colombian forward has made his preference clear, turning down a very lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia to push for a move to the London Stadium.
Despite the tempting wages on offer from the Middle East, Duran wants to play regularly under Julen Lopetegui – a fellow Spanish speaker.
However, Villa are playing hardball, holding out for a £40million fee.
Aston Villa desperate to get as much money out of Duran deal as possible
Aston Villa have already rejected three bids from West Ham for Duran this summer [Fabrizio Romano, July 25].
The Hammers’ interest in Duran is intense, but Villa are standing firm on their valuation. The young striker is eager to leave, seeking more playing time than he currently gets at Villa Park.
Even his social media hints towards West Ham have not gone unnoticed, risking backlash from Villa supporters.
Villa’s resolve will be tested as West Ham may return with an improved offer to secure Duran’s services.

For now, however, Unai Emery will be keen to get as much money out of the forward who is unlikely to feature in a Villa shirt again, following his recent antics.
