Aston Villa could sign Raphinha and João Félix as financial warning emerges

Bryan King has suggested there is a possibility of Aston Villa signing both Raphinha and João Félix.

The ex-Villa scout believes the club’s improved financial position could make both moves possible.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo (23 July), Villa are not keen to spend big money on Raphinha and Félix, with both players valued between £50-59million.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – claims the transfers shouldn’t be entirely ruled out.

“I would think Villa can’t afford to make too many big-money signings,” King said.

“They’ve already brought in Amadou Onana. You wouldn’t think that they could sign both Raphinha and Félix too. However, it appears as though the club have much more money now so who knows?

“They just need to be careful and ensure they don’t break any profit and sustainability rules and get themselves in any trouble as a result.”

Aston Villa to target both Raphinha and João Félix?

After the big-money sale of Moussa Diaby, Villa have been handed a huge cash boost.

Even so, it seems unlikely that they would want to splash more than £100million on two players. Therefore, it appears as though they might need to pick one or the other.

While moves for both can’t be entirely ruled out, it would seem difficult for the club to sign both players without breaching any profit and sustainability rules.

Raphinha and Félix would both improve Unai Emery’s squad and add some much-needed experience ahead of Villa’s UEFA Champions League campaign next season.

However, the club need to ensure they remain sensible in the transfer market.
