Aston Villa backed to sign João Félix as Fabrizio Romano drops ‘dream’ transfer update
Bryan King has urged Aston Villa to sign João Félix amid a Fabrizio Romano transfer reveal.
The ex-Villa scout believes it is important for the club to sign players that Unai Emery wants.
It comes after Fabrizio Romano reported via his Daily Briefing (26 July) that Félix is the dream target for Villa.
“Aston Villa are dreaming of João Félix. He’s the ultimate target, especially for Unai Emery who’s a big fan of the player and he’d love to work with him,” Romano said.
“It’s still early, nothing advancing now, but one to watch. Let me clarify guys that it’s a complicated deal because it’s very expensive on fee and salary, but Villa want to try.”
And – speaking exclusively to Villa News – claims the Atletico Madrid forward should be signed regardless of the cost.
“If that is the player that the manager wants, then go and sign him,” King said.
“They have just sold Moussa Diaby, they have money coming in from commercial deals. Therefore, if this is who Emery wants, then make it happen.
“Whatever they end up paying is neither here nor there. If Emery feels that Félix will improve Villa, then the club need to try and fulfil his wishes.”
Aston Villa to sign João Félix from Atletico Madrid?
Félix is a big-name player with UEFA Champions League experience, which could prove useful for Emery and Villa.
He struggled last time out in the Premier League with Chelsea. However, he would be walking into a much more stable environment at Villa.

What is key is that this is a player wanted by Emery. During his time at the club thus far the Spaniard has worked wonders, and the club must therefore trust him to do the same again with Félix.
As a result, this is someone they should be going all out to sign.
