Amadou Onana presence to help everybody at Aston Villa amid Youri Tielemans admission

Ty Bracey has backed Amadou Onana to boost his new Aston Villa teammates next season.

The Villans confirmed the signing of the Belgium international on 22 July in a deal worth up to £50 million [BBC Sport].

After already signing Ross Barkley from Luton Town and Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus, Unai Emery now has plenty of midfield options available.

Villa podcaster Bracey has backed Onana to feature regularly and help his teammates defensively to be more expressive moving forward.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “It’s his aerial presence isn’t it that will help everybody, especially from set pieces.

I think it’ll help us concede fewer goals from corners especially. He’ll take away some defensive requirements from players like Tielemans or Barkley so that won’t be so heavy on them.

When the defence and the rest of the team get full confidence in him and know he is capable, which won’t take long, he will give the more attacking-minded midfielders the confidence to drive forward more regularly.

Amadou Onana to hand Aston Villa boost

The Belgium international was a positive performer for his country at the EUROs where he featured alongside Tielemans against Romania.

The Villa man got on the scoresheet after just two minutes which could be a sign of things to come under Emery next season.

If this is replicated, the Leicester City man will be afforded freedom with the six-foot-five, Onana dropping deeper when needed.

This will be a different set-up from when Tielemans featured alongside Douglas Luiz last year but it may prove to be beneficial.
