Man United bid to hijack Aston Villa deal for Amadou Onana as medical now scheduled

Manchester United have failed in a bid to sign Amadou Onana ahead of Aston Villa with his medical scheduled for Sunday (21 July), according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The Belgian journalist reported on 19 July that the Red Devils’ bid matched the Villans “with higher financial terms”.

However, the Everton midfielder has “given his word” to Unai Emery with his medical booked in for Sunday ahead of a £45million move.

Amadou Onana rejects Manchester United for Aston Villa

After years of dealing with Premier League domination from Man United, the Villans look to be as attractive a prospect now.

With the Champions League coming to Villa Park next season, there is no doubt that stars will want to secure a move to the Midlands for that opportunity.

Onana is one player who wants to take the jump to play in the elite European competition after years of relegation scraps at Goodison Park.

The 22-year-old has plenty of room to grow and under the tutelage of Emery, there is no doubt that he will get better with time.

Erik ten Hag’s side are moving quickly in the transfer market after confirming deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro already.

The Belgian international isn’t a player that they are going to bring in this summer with a move to play in Claret and Blue looking highly likely.

A move for Onana is being met with plenty of excitement by Villa supporters as a potential replacement for Douglas Luiz.
