Aston Villa Women learn how many WSL matches Villa Park will host
Aston Villa Women are set to play every Women’s Super League game at Villa Park this season, according to Emma Sanders.
The BBC Sport journalist reported on 19 July, via X, that the Villans will play their home games at Villa Park rather than the Bescot Stadium.
The remaining home games in other competitions, including Women’s FA Cup and Women’s League Cup ties will be played at the home of Walsall.
Aston Villa Women confirm Villa Park stay
Over the years, the Villa Women’s side have only been afforded the opportunity to play in B6 on sparing occasions.
The atmosphere around these games is always much greater than those at the Bescot considering the distance between the two.
Considering there is a seven-mile journey from ground to ground, many fans are put off attending games away from Villa Park.
Now with it being reported that all games will be played at the 42k capacity stadium, there will be a positive mood around all home matches.
This is only going to hand Robert de Pauw a boost ahead of his first campaign in charge of the Villans in the WSL.
There is plenty of positivity around the Women’s side right now which has also been added to by the contract extension of Lucy Staniforth.
Playing at Villa Park for the season is going to give the Villans faith for the season which could push them forward.
