Aston Villa told to abandon Chelsea star Conor Gallagher pursuit amid development

Ty Bracey has urged Aston Villa to end their pursuit of Chelsea star Conor Gallagher.

The Telegraph journalist Matt Law reported on 2 July that the England international is “reluctant” to relocate from London to the West Midlands.

This could hamper the chances of the Villans signing the 24-year-old, who Unai Emery reportedly admires [David Ornstein].

Villa podcaster Bracey believes his team won’t be able to progress in a deal for Gallagher if leaving London isn’t something he wants to do.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “If he doesn’t want to leave London then it is what it is.

If that is where home is then I understand that he might not want to move, that’s a big thing for some players.

Villa definitely need to recruit a midfielder, that is absolutely crucial and a no-brainer. I still wouldn’t say no to signing Gallagher but if he’s desperate to stay then it won’t matter in the end.

When it comes to personal terms, he’ll make it clear what he wants and then that’s that. It’s just one of those things.

Aston Villa could end Conor Gallagher interest

The Englishman has been linked with a switch to Villa Park since June and initially looked to be part of a makeshift swap deal with Jhon Duran for PSR purposes.

This didn’t happen as Ian Maatsen came in while Omari Kellyman made the move to Stamford Bridge instead of the Colombian.

Now the striker looks set to join West Ham United while interest in signing Gallagher appears to have cooled off for the Villans.

Gallagher would be a positive addition to Emery’s squad given the energy and dogged attitude that he could add to the Spaniard’s squad.

It now appears that the 24-year-old is going to remain in the capital beyond the summer transfer window as opposed to a move to Villa Park.
