Alisha Lehmann shares message to Aston Villa as Juventus transfer confirmed
Alisha Lehmann has taken to social media to bid goodbye to Aston Villa after her transfer to Juventus was confirmed.
Villa Women have announced, via X (5 July), that the Swiss international has departed Villa Park in a move to Serie A Femminile.
After the deal was confirmed, the 25-year-old posted a goodbye and thank you message to Instagram to the Villans and their supporters.
She said: “An emotional goodbye, I wanna say thank you to my teammates, staff and of course the amazing fans. I spent the best 3 years so far of my career at this amazing club, every single minute I enjoyed.
“Thank you for everything Aston Villa. You will always have a special place in my heart, and of course a part of me will be there forever. Thank you.”
Alisha Lehmann leaves Aston Villa for Juventus
Lehmann has had a positive influence at Villa Park over the years since signing from West Ham United in 2021, both on and off the pitch.
She has had some standout performances while also bringing eyes to the Villa Women’s games with her sizable social media following.
Once Douglas Luiz’s move to Juventus had been confirmed, the writing was on the wall somewhat given the pair are in a long-term relationship.
This was only added to when the Swiss international was spotted in Turin ahead of a medical before the move was confirmed.
With Robert de Pauw in as manager, the Dutchman will be wanting to shape the Villa squad in his own image ahead of his debut season.
The former Leverkusen boss may feel frustrated to lose Lehmann but, after just two WSL goals across 15 appearances last season, she may prove to be replaceable [FotMob].
It is disappointing to lose the 25-year-old but her transfer fee may allow the Villans to make more signings this summer.
