Aston Villa Women announce Jill Baijings signing

The Villa Women’s summer is finally up and running after a period of uncertainty after Carla Ward departed at the end of last season.

There has been a general lack of transparency from the club over the situation but now it seems to be getting cleared up.

Bringing in de Pauw was the start and it is clear that the Dutchman is having his say when it comes to transfers this summer.

The new manager will have crossed paths with Baijings as they both played a role at Bayer Leverkusen in years gone by.

It is positive to see the new coach being able to bring in his players ahead of his debut season in the Women’s Super League.

Baijings will add experience to the Villa midfield which can only be a positive thing on a risk-free loan deal which benefits all parties.

The Villans could lose Alisha Lehmann this summer so additions in this transfer window are going to be important to have a positive campaign.

Someone with a mix of youth, experience and experience working with the new manager is an ideal start to a potential busy transfer window.
