Aston Villa to accept ‘ridiculous’ Moussa Diaby offer amid Saudi Arabia transfer news
Bryan King claims Aston Villa would only accept a “ridiculous” offer for forward Moussa Diaby.
The ex-Villa scout believes it would be wise for the club to keep hold of the 24-year-old.
As reported by the Daily Mail (26 June), Al-Nassr are interested in signing Diaby, having expressed an interest in the player previously before he signed for Villa.
However, King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – doesn’t think a deal would come cheap.
“Al-Nassr would need to offer an awful lot of money,” King said.
“If Diaby is classed as an important player, and it seems as if he is based on last season, then I imagine Villa would demand a lot of money.
“The club are playing in the Champions League next season which means there will be a big demand on Unai Emery and the players. Therefore, the squad needs to be strong.
“As a result, they can’t afford to sell Diaby, unless a ridiculous offer comes in. If that were to happen then it would be up to the player to decide.”
Would Aston Villa allow Moussa Diaby to join Al-Nassr?
This is certainly not the right time for Villa to let Diaby go. He was signed as part of a club-record £51.9million deal last summer [The Guardian].
Throughout his debut season in England he showed signs of promise, and considering he is still only 25, Villa will be keen to see what he can do next season.
What could cause an issue for the club is if Diaby tried to force his way out.

However, considering Emery’s side will be playing in the Champions League next season, the player is unlikely to push for a move away.
In other Aston Villa news, the club will agree to let one player leave as advanced transfer talks are held.
