Aston Villa transfer news as Doctor reacts to Luiz Junior amid £10m bid update

Famalicao goalkeeper Luiz Junior is expected to adapt to life quicker at Aston Villa should he move there this summer, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that as the Brazilian is a goalkeeper, it will take him less time to adapt than an outfielder, despite never playing in England before.

The Villans are prepared to table a £10million bid including add-ons to sign the 23-year-old after holding talks, per Mais Futebol on 16 June.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

While he’s coming from Portugal, the fact that he is a keeper means it will be easier for him to adapt considering the fitness demands of a keeper are lower than outfielder positions.

My advice for him from a fitness perspective would be to follow the protocols set by the strength and conditioning team and understand there will be an adaptation period, regardless of position.

It may take him some time to acclimatise to the climate and lifestyle which can have an impact on his fitness initially.

Luiz Junior could be a good backup goalkeeper for Aston .Villa

Junior could be a good backup signing for Villa due to his impressive performances in the Portuguese top flight.

The 23-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper has shown potential, making 120 top-flight appearances in Portugal.
