Aston Villa transfer news as Weston McKennie medical claim emerges
Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie is unlikely to have any issues clearing his Aston Villa medical, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his struggles at Leeds United are not a clear indicator and he has since proven his fitness.
The Telegraph reported on 18 June that Villa and Juventus have held talks over a potential transfer for the United States international.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“He had a shoulder injury this past season but considering he only missed two weeks, likely a mild injury overall.
“In terms of his tenure with Leeds, there was a lot of change going on during that so it’s difficult to say that’s a reliable indicator for him.
“Key pointers to look for would be his fitness metrics and understanding his off-pitch habits.
“Thus, I see no reason for him to face any issues with his medical.“
Aston Villa must avoid signing Weston McKennie
The Villans must avoid signing McKennie due to concerns over his consistency and the financial implications.
Despite his talent, the 25-year-old’s performance can be erratic, which could disrupt team dynamics.
His recent stint at Leeds United was underwhelming and his spell at Juventus has not been convincing enough to justify a significant investment.

Additionally, the financial aspects of the deal, including the potential transfer fee and wages, could strain Villa’s resources, especially considering the club’s need to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.
In other Aston Villa news, a fresh update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign Ross Barkley from Luton Town as Unai Emery’s stance has been detailed.
