Aston Villa news as Doctor shares Boubacar Kamara pre-season return update
Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara will not be a part of the club’s pre-season due to his ACL injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that as the 24-year-old is currently four months from the setback, he will be progressing towards a more intensive form of rehab as he aims to return to first-team football.
However, the France international will not recover in time for pre-season which should begin in a few weeks and may aim for an individual training return in August or September.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“At roughly four months out, his rehab will be progressing towards higher intensity movements in different directions with an aim to focus on multi-directional movements and then to sport-specific movements out towards month six or so.
“His routines will be no different than in-season as he’s still rehabbing.
“He will not be a part of the club’s pre-season training and it remains to be seen if he can return to individual training around August or September.“
Boubacar Kamara will be a big miss for Aston Villa
Kamara is a crucial player in the midfield, providing defensive stability and the ability to control the game.
His absence will likely be felt in both defensive and offensive aspects of the game, making it a big miss for Aston Villa.

Unai Emery will be hoping that the club can sign another midfielder in the summer so they do not miss the influence of the Frenchman in the middle of the park.
