Aston Villa ace Kosta Nedeljkovic injury update emerges ahead of 2024/25 season
Kosta Nedeljkovic, who joined Aston Villa in January for £8million [The Athletic], may not be ready for Premier League football yet, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the 18-year-old, who returned to Red Star Belgrade on loan for the rest of the season, faced a significant knee setback which kept him out from February until the end of the season.
It’s understood that Villa and Unai Emery might look at pre-season to gauge if he’s Premier League ready, but there are no guarantees of him being in the first team for the 2024/25 campaign.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“It’s difficult to say which grade because it really depends on what the specific knee injury was and that information has not been made available.
“It may factor into his first-team readiness if it’s impacted his match rhythm and/or the club or Emery feels like he hasn’t developed enough.
“That being said, he does have the off-season to continue to get up to speed and then potentially make an impression in pre-season.
“Based on those six weeks to two months, the club may have a better read on the situation if he is or isn’t ready for Premier League football.“
Kosta Nedeljkovic will offer something unique to this Aston Villa side
His speed, dribbling skills and ability to contribute to both defence and attack make him an asset to any team.
At Villa, he will bring energy and versatility to the right-back position, providing a robust and speedy option for Unai Emery’s side.

His youth and hunger for success will also inject a fresh dynamic into the squad, pushing the team to compete at the highest level.
