Kosta Nedeljkovic could give Aston Villa green light on £25m+ Matty Cash sale to AC Milan
Ty Bracey believes that Aston Villa may be willing to sell Matty Cash to AC Milan this summer especially if Kosta Nedeljkovic plays a first-team role.
The Athletic have reported (12 June) that the Villans want £30 million from the Serie A to let the right-back go which may prove to be a “stumbling block”.
A bid has already been rejected by Unai Emery but there is still a chance a deal can be struck if the right offer comes in from Milan.
Villa podcaster Bracey has suggested Cash’s future could hinge on the future of January signing Nedeljkovic and his involvement next season.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I’ve always said that Matty Cash is a good footballer but maybe just doesn’t suit Emery’s set-up. We know that Italian teams like AC Milan are interested.
“If we could get £25m for him then I think it would be a good piece of business with that lad coming in from Serbia from January.
“We don’t know if he will be a first-team player or he might be loaned out but if he’s around the squad, maybe Cash could go.“
Matty Cash Aston Villa hangs in the balance
Cash is a useful squad player at Villa Park but moving into the Champions League next campaign, that may be a step too far.
Emery has favoured Ezri Konsa as a right-back throughout the season with the 26-year-old often starting games on the bench.
This has all culminated in him missing out on the Poland national team squad for the EUROs in a disappointing end to the campaign.
Villa signed Nedeljkovic in January before he was loaned straight back to Red Star Belgrade for the rest of the season.
He is certainly an unknown quantity coming from Serbia at just 18 years of age so it remains unclear whether he will feature for the first team or not.

With Cash linked heavily with a move to San Siro this summer, the youngster may be pushed into the limelight quicker than expected.
The window isn’t yet open so there is a long way to go but it is certainly something to keep an eye on this summer.
