Aston Villa transfer news as Inter Milan star Denzel Dumfries claim shared by Doctor
This summer would be the ideal time for Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries to move to the Premier League, amid Aston Villa links, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that given his fitness record in the 2023/24 season and his age, 28, it makes sense from a physical standpoint for him to be exposed to the English game.
This comes after Italian media outlet Calciomercato reported on 9 June that the Villans have already contacted the agents of the Netherlands international.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“He’s relatively been injury free this past season and barring a small one that kept him out for three games, the medical staff will have nothing to be worried about.
“It may be now or never for Dumfries to make a Premier League move if he so desires so the next few weeks is the ideal time for him to sort out his future.
“Entering his late 20s where players tend to be their most physically robust and still young enough that he could get a three-year contract.
“In terms of his physical condition, this should be a no brainer for the club.“
Denzel Dumfries can replace Matty Cash at Aston Villa
Signing the 28-year-old could be a smart move for the club especially if Matty Cash departs for AC Milan, with the Italian side making contact for him already, per the Athletic on 12 June.
Dumfries, known for his attacking prowess and defensive solidity, could seamlessly fill the right-back role.
His experience in Serie A and the Dutch national team would bring valuable versatility to Villa’s squad.

Dumfries’ ability to contribute offensively, with his pace and crossing ability, complements Villa’s style of play, potentially enhancing their attacking options from the flanks.
In other Aston Villa news, a fresh update has emerged on the club’s pursuit to sign Ross Barkley from Luton Town as Unai Emery’s stance has been detailed.
