Alex Moreno sale at Aston Villa possible as new signing on brink of joining
Ty Bracey believes Aston Villa could look to sell Alex Moreno if they sign Samuel Iling-Junior from Juventus this summer.
The Villans look set to lose Douglas Luiz with the Old Lady on the brink of completing a swap deal with Iling-Junior and Weston McKennie coming in [Fabrizio Romano].
The Englishman is capable of playing on the wing but has played as a wing-back in the past and his versatility should stand him in good stead under Unai Emery.
This news has been met with links suggesting that Moreno could make a return to Real Betis just 18 months after joining [Estadio Deportivo] for a reported fee of £13.3million [Sky Sports].
Villa podcaster Bracey believes if Iling-Junior comes in, Villa may look to cash in on the Spaniard while there is interest in him.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I’m not sure about Moreno’s wages but I know with Lucas Digne, left-back is one of our most expensive positions.
“With Iling-Junior coming in he can play as a wing-back so if one of them leaves that might be done with him in mind.
“Even if we can get half of what we paid for Moreno back that would be ok considering what you pay in loan fees nowadays so I’d be ok with him leaving if we can get some form of fee for him.“
Alex Moreno could leave Aston Villa
Moreno had a storming start to his career at Villa Park which saw him displace Lucas Digne from the first team and maintain a first-team spot.
After an injury against Liverpool, he was ruled out for the final games of his first season but this lasted much longer than expected.
He was out for almost half of last season and when he did play it was obvious the Spaniard wasn’t firing on all cylinders.
Luckily Digne’s form picked up and he became a key cog in the machine at Villa Park under Emery popping up with some important moments.

If Betis are interested in resigning Moreno this summer, if Villa can recoup what they paid then a deal may be struck.
Iling-Junior isn’t a direct replacement but he certainly brings an additional edge on the left-hand side which could benefit Digne.
The window is soon to open and these sorts of deals will begin to gather even more pace over time.
