Douglas Luiz transfer update emerges after rumours at Aston Villa
Dan Bardell has suggested that Douglas Luiz will be moved on by Aston Villa if they need to ease PSR concerns this summer with him yet to sign a new contract.
The Villans are struggling with finances ahead of the latest Premier League season which could mean they must sell a star before 30 June.
Luiz could help raise funds ahead of that deadline with Juventus interested in the Brazilian, according to Sky Sports (4 June).
Bardell shared that he has heard about a new contract being on the table for some time now, with nothing being signed as of yet.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “If Villa have to move someone on it looks like it will be Douglas Luiz. From what I’ve heard there’s been a contract on the table for a while that he hasn’t signed so this is the peak time for Villa to sell him.
“This is a time where Villa need to be able to raise funds to be able to manoeuvre in the transfer market for a Champions League campaign.
“The problem that Villa have got is, first off he may not want to go. The players who have helped qualify for the Champions League are going to want to play and don’t have to leave.
“It is going to be a difficult summer. Luiz is probably the easiest sell for Villa but I still don’t think it is easy. I think the club are in a difficult spot as to what to do.“

The Villans qualified for the Champions League and after the elation of that achievement came the realisation of FFP and PSR concerns.
Even reaching the pinnacle of football in Europe and the financial gains that will bring in, sales are necessary this summer.
This could see Villa move on Luiz after a superb season while his value is at its highest in a move which could solve issues this summer.
It must be said that the Brazilian struggled in the Villa side at times after the injury to Boubacar Kamara which forced him to play deeper.
Despite that, he is still one of the most important players at Villa Park and selling him would leave a hole in Unai Emery’s squad.
Selling him would allow the Spaniard to bring in some new players this summer although Luiz may prove difficult to replace.
If he won’t sign a new deal at the club and an acceptable offer comes in, the Villans may cash in while they can.
