Aston Villa injury crisis continues as Omari Kellyman image now emerges
Omari Kellyman was spotted wearing a protective boot on his foot after Aston Villa took part on the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens.
An image of the Villa youngster has been shared on X (27 May) which shows him on crutches after a clash in the tournament.
This injury came after he scored in the quarter-final against Rangers which helped the Young Lions progress to semi finals.
Villa made it to the final after a win against Hong Kong Rangers but they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Brighton and finished the tournament as runners-up.
The disappointment of the loss was compiled by Kellyman hobbling away from the tournament in yet another injury for Aston Villa after a season full of them.
Aston Villa injury crisis continues with Omari Kellyman
Before the 2023/24 season had even begun, Emi Buendia’s campaign was ended by an ACL injury which he is yet to return from.
This was replicated by Tyrone Mings on the opening day of the Premier League against Newcastle, which he too is yet to return.
To make it a hattrick, Boubacar Kamara was also hit with an ACL injury which could see him ruled out until midway through next season.
Add to this injuries to the likes of Jacob Ramsey, Pau Torres and Alex Moreno, amongst others, Villa haven’t had a settled campaign all year.
The list has been ever-growing throughout the season and even now it is finished, Kellyman has been spotted with crutches and a boot.
There is no update on the fitness of the 18-year-old but it is just typical of Villa this season that he has suffered this latest set back.
Villa fans will be hopeful of a return for him ahead of next season where his influence could grow under Unai Emery.
In other Aston Villa news, Emery told to terminate Philippe Coutinho’s contract as Fabrizio Romano drops news.
