Aston Villa in advanced talks to get rid of Philippe Coutinho, he wants to quit Villa Park
Philippe Coutinho looks set to depart Aston Villa this summer as talks over a move to Vasco da Gama are advancing according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist has suggested (26 May) that the Brazilian’s camp are looking to bring him back to the club he left in 2010.
Vasco da Gama are “increasingly confident” in signing Coutinho this summer with the Villans looking to cut ties with him this summer.
Should Aston Villa sell Philippe Coutinho?
Coutinho signed for Villa on loan from Barcelona in a deal which was met with plenty of fanfare from fans in January 2022.

This sparked Steven Gerrard into paying £17m for Coutinho [Sky Sports] but things only got worse for the pair of them as time went on.
The manager was sacked just months into the season after a heavy defeat to Fulham was enough for the owners to pull the trigger.
In the past two seasons, the Brazilian has made just 22 appearances in the Premier League with injuries plaguing his time at Villa Park.
This season he made a loan move to Al-Duhail where he has had a good spell of form which has seen him score seven in Qatar.
Things haven’t really worked out for Coutinho at Villa and they don’t look like they ever will, especially with Unai Emery in charge.
With the likes of Leon Bailey, Emi Buendia, Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers there isn’t much space in the squad for him next season.
A move back to Brazil seems to make sense for the club and Coutinho himself.
