Ross Barkley tipped to shine at Aston Villa as Luton Town transfer news emerges
Ty Bracey believes Unai Emery will get the best out of Ross Barkley and he could prove to be a great piece of business for Aston Villa should he sign from Luton Town.
According to a report from The Guardian (20 May), the Villans are “closing” in on a deal for the English midfielder on a free transfer.
He has had a superb season at Luton and now looks set to return to Villa Park after a loan spell back in the 2020/21 season.
Villa podcaster Bracey has suggested that he could prove to be a useful signing who will improve under Emery while adding depth to the squad.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I genuinely believe that Unai Emery can get the best out of any footballer who plays for the club.
“We know we’ve got to be a little bit careful despite having the Champions League money so I don’t think it’s a bad piece of business If we can get a fully fit Ross Barkley playing his best football.
“I don’t think he’ll be the type of player to play every game in the season but he’s good experienced depth and I think that’s really important.“

Barkley has had a superb season back in the Premier League for a struggling Luton side where he has stood out massively.
The Hatters were relegated under Rob Edwards but it says it all that the Englishman looks set for a move to Villa in the Champions League.
This campaign he has scored five and assisted four [FotMob] but what he has transitioned into is a deep-lying playmaker where goal involvement isn’t paramount.
He made 1,191 accurate passes while also completing 66 dribbles with a 66 per cent issue across 1,958 touches in the Premier League.
As a midfielder in an Emery system, he could find himself in an ideal set-up to suit how he has played in his spell with Luton.
With John McGinn, Youri Tielemans, Boubacar Kamara and Douglas Luiz surrounding him, he will certainly have plenty of support.
On a free transfer, Barkley could prove to be a great signing if Emery can get the best out of him.
