Rory Wilson decision to lead to Aston Villa debut v Crystal Palace in Premier League
Rory Wilson could be a part of the Aston Villa first-team squad against Crystal Palace on Sunday (19 May) after being substituted at half time v Racing Club Warwick (15 May).
The Villans Under 21s side won the Birmingham Senior Cup for the first time since 1985 in style after a 9-0 win at Villa Park.
The high scoreline was achieved despite Wilson being substituted at halftime as Kobei Moore replaced him.
This could point to the Scotland youth international being involved under Unai Emery for the first team against Crystal Palace on the Premier League final day.
Could Rory Wilson play for Aston Villa v Crystal Palace?
There have been plenty of rumours suggesting that Wilson could depart Villa Park this summer with plenty of interest in his signature.
Fabrizio Romano reported (24 March) that the Villans have offered him a new five-year contract as they looked to tie him down.
Emery and Co. will want to make sure that they can keep the striker who has scored 33 goals in 43 games, as opposed to losing him for a small fee.
This could see him given a first-team opportunity on the final day of the Premier League as Villa travel to Selhurst Park on Sunday (19 May).
Given the showing of Jhon Duran off the bench v Liverpool and with Ollie Watkins in search of a 20th league goal, Wilson could have a starring role as a substitute.

There is no doubt that he has an eye for goal, you don’t score that many without having that special something.
Emery doesn’t come across as someone who will play him for the sake of it but in a game with nothing riding on it, Wilson won’t get many better chances.
With him coming off early against Racing Club Warwick, it could have been done with the weekend in mind.
