Aston Villa v Liverpool injury news emerges as Doctor shares Nicolo Zaniolo update

Aston Villa attacker Nicolo Zaniolo is unlikely to be able to play the full 90 minutes against Liverpool on 13 May, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Italian starting another game this season is a doubt, given his recent fitness woes.

The 24-year-old played just five minutes in the Olympiacos clash on 2 May and then has been absent due to a minor injury.

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:

Considering he only played five minutes and the fact he hasn’t been responding well to things – per Unai Emery’s quotes – I’d be very surprised to see him play a full 90 for the remainder of the season.

At this stage, him even starting a game is a doubt.

He has been facing major struggles with his fitness and the only way to ramp it up is through bounce games, which is not possible with the season-ending and Villa out of Europe.

Nicolo Zaniolo has had a tough season at Aston Villa

It has not been a season that the 24-year-old would’ve hoped for at Villa Park with him fighting injury battles.

Even when fit, he has been a bit part player for Unai Emery, making just nine league starts.

He has scored two league goals but it has not really impressed the Villa fans who will be watching Champions League football next season.

It will come as a shock if the 24-year-old is at Villa Park once his loan deal expires in June.
