Aston Villa news ‘absolutely outrageous’ amid Morgan Rogers update – ‘it’s a joke’
Ty Bracey is looking forward to the end of the season despite the success Aston Villa have had due to the injuries Unai Emery’s side has suffered.
Against Brighton (5 May), Morgan Rogers went off with a hamstring injury after just 26 minutes. He became the eighth first team player to be on the treatment table.
Despite this, Emery has carried his side to a potential Champions League finish and the semi-final of the Conference League.
Now Bracey has admitted that he is willing for this season to finish as he looks out for the wellness of the players.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, he said: “It’s a joke now. I’ve said a few times this is my favourite season supporting Villa but can’t wait for it to end. Not for any other reason than the injuries.
“The players are tired. Sunday (5 May) was our 53rd game of the season which is absolutely outrageous. You’ve got to expect that if you have a good cup run, you’re pushing 60 games a season.
“I’m ready for the season to end. The players are tired and are getting injured so we just need a summer break.
“It looks like we’re going into Champions League football. We need to go full steam into Olympiacos but there’s a lot of tired legs.”
How will Aston Villa miss Morgan Rogers?
In the absence of Jacob Ramsey, Rogers has excelled and proved himself to be one of Villa’s better players in recent weeks.
This has now seen him score three Premier League goals and add one assist across 11 appearances. He has been very impressive since his move from Middlesbrough.
He popped up with a great goal against Chelsea which typified his performance. According to FotMob, he had 50 touches, 100 per cent shot accuracy and made two passes into the final third.

After coming into a rich vein of form, it was typical of Aston Villa’s season that he would pull up with an injury against Brighton.
Matty Cash came on to replace him and played further forward than his usual right-back position. With a 0 per cent shot accuracy, no accurate crosses out of three and just one touch in the opposition box, he wasn’t much of a threat [FotMob].
With that being said, it will be a challenge for Emery to find a solution for the Olympiacos clash.
