Aston Villa: Lamare Bogarde needs loan spell next season to realize ‘huge potential’
Aston Villa need to loan out Lamare Bogarde next season to allow him to develop before he can break into the first team under Unai Emery.
Featuring young talent hasn’t been on top of the priority list at Villa Park in recent seasons due to European pushes.
Emery has handed first-team debuts to youngsters like Omari Kellyman and Tommi O’Reilly but they are yet to have a noticeable impact.
This has seen many starlets head out on loan in order to gain valuable experience. Louie Barry, Rico Richards and Kerr Smith are just some of the names.
One player who has had multiple loans but has found himself out of the first-team picture is Bogarde who returned from Bristol Rovers in January.
He was certainly highly rated in his time at the Memorial Ground as his first team coach, Andy Magan told Bristol Live at the time.
He said: “He has huge potential and he is another exciting player that we are very lucky to have at our football club.”
What is going on with Lamare Bogarde at Aston Villa?
Looking at this you would believe that they would be disappointed to see him leave and go back to his parent club mid-season.
This was his second spell with the Gas but when Joey Barton departed and Matt Taylor came in, the Dutchman struggled to nail down a first-team place.
Because of this, the Villans opted to recall the 20-year-old and it seemed that he would be heading back on loan, that never happened and at Villa Park he remained.
There had been reports suggesting that a move to Sunderland was on the cards, according to The Athletic, but a move to the Championship never materialised.
According to FotMob, he played 14 times in League One this season in the middle of the park. He was able to register an 81.6% pass accuracy while winning over 50% of all duels.
For a young player in a league renowned for its physicality at times, this sort of record is nothing to be sniffed at.
It is increasingly unlikely that he will feature for Villa next season so finally securing a loan away will certainly be beneficial.
A loan to a top League One or ambitious Championship team would be ideal in helping realiZe Bogarde’s potential.
