Aston Villa: Broadcaster rubbishes what people are saying about Premier League clash v Man City
Aston Villa travel to face Manchester City on 3 April and Ty Bracey believes Unai Emery’s side can take something away from the Etihad.
The Villans will be looking to secure their first-ever Premier League double over the Citizens following their win in early December.
This saw Pep Guardiola’s side get dominated at Villa Park as Villa took away all three points through a Leon Bailey strike.
With the race for Champions League football hotting up, the chance to move five points clear of fifth place is there for the taking.
There is a general opinion among Villa fans that they don’t expect anything from the game given City’s quality. Despite this, Bracey has expressed his belief that he doesn’t share this defeatist mentality.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Just do exactly what we did last time. You know, at Villa Park it is a different ball game. I don’t like the opinion that it’s a write-off, it’s Man City I don’t like that at all. I think we can go there and get something.
“We should be aiming to get something. Just because Spurs have only got a point against West Ham I think we should still be going all guns blazing and try and get something from the game.”
Could Aston Villa get any points vs Manchester City?
If Emery can get his men playing as they did in the reverse fixture in the Midlands then anything is possible at the Etihad Stadium.
Despite having less possession, Villa managed to accumulate 22 shots compared to just two for The Sky Blues [FotMob]. This contributed to one of the most iconic Villans performances of recent times.
As Bracey said, it was a different game at Vila Park and will certainly be more difficult in the reverse fixture. This is especially clear given that City have not lost a home match so far this season.
With Ollie Watkins set to miss out through injury, the task has been made even more difficult for the Villans on their travels.
Despite this being the case it is clear that Bracey still holds confidence in Emery and Co. who will be hopeful of maintaining a top-four spot. It will be tough no doubt.
