Aston Villa to be involved in ‘bidding war’ to sign Wolves star Pedro Neto

Aston Villa would likely find themselves involved in a “bidding war” if they look to try and sign Wolves star Pedro Neto this summer, according to Ty Bracey.

GiveMeSport reported on its website on 13 March that Villa are one of six Premier League clubs who are interested in signing the Portuguese international when the transfer window reopens.

It said Arsenal are currently leading the race for the 24-year-old, who the Villans’ West Midlands rivals value at about £80million.

Bracey believes Neto is a “class player”, but he questioned whether Unai Emery’s side would want to be involved if it comes down to “highest bidder wins” to land the winger.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “I wouldn’t say no, even though he plays for Wolves.

“But I think there are going to be a lot of clubs interested in him. I’ve seen links to Arsenal as well.

“I definitely wouldn’t say no to signing him, he’s a class player and definitely good enough for us.

“I’m not sure whether we’ll go in for him because I think there will be a bidding war for him.

“If it’s one of them where it’s highest bidder wins, I wouldn’t really want to be involved in that with our current situation.”

Could Aston Villa sign Pedro Neto from Wolves?

It seems like it’s going to be a tough ask for Villa to try and sign Neto due to the amount of interest there is set to be in him this summer.

As Bracey points out, the potential fee could be a stumbling block given the financial situation the club currently find themselves in.

But it’s no surprise they have shown an interest in the winger after he’s scored three goals and laid on 11 assists in 23 appearances so far during this campaign.
