Aston Villa sign new goalkeeper on three-year deal with transfer basically confirmed on Instagram
Aston Villa have continued to bolster their academy ranks, handing youth goalkeeper Jack Allan a three-year deal, according to Birmingham World.
The Brummie news outlet reported on 27 March that Allan was not offered scholarship terms at former club Portsmouth but impressed on trial at Villa over a three-week period, earning himself a deal at the Premier League side.
It has been reported that Allan’s contract offer from Aston Villa comprises of a two-year scholarship with a one-year professional deal to follow those initial 24 months.
The teenage goalkeeper has now confirmed via his bio on his personal Instagram account that he’s an Aston Villa player with Birmingham World adding that he’s joined Villa’s Under-17s set-up as he looks to develop further at his new club.
Aston Villa aiming to add to their academy
Villa have demonstrated their commitment to acquiring new academy talent of late, with Allan their latest capture.
The club have also landed two midfielders in 2024 – Keilan Quinn from West Brom and free agent George Hemmings, formerly of Nottingham Forest.
Quinn is just the latest Baggies talent to move to Villa Park, with fellow midfielders Rico Richards and Jamaldeen Jimoh making the same switch earlier this season.
Winger Cole Brannigan and defender Calum Moreland also joined from Linfield in close proximity to the aforementioned pair, as did Aidan Borland, who was prised from Celtic for a six-figure fee.

Jacob Ramsey has made a positive impact since breaking into the first team from the academy, featuring 21 times across all competitions this term – head coach Unai Emery will be hoping the club’s investment in youth can supply him with more such talents in future.
In other Aston Villa news, Emery has been dealt an injury blow, with a key player ruled out for up to three weeks.
