Aston Villa: Leon Bailey now undroppable after 4-0 win v Ajax, Lee Hendrie wowed on Sky Sports
Aston Villa stormed into the Europa Conference League quarter-finals with a stunning victory over Ajax.
Having drawn 0-0 with the Dutch giants in the round of 16 first leg away from home, Villa ran out 4-0 winners in the second leg at Villa Park on Thursday (14 March).
And helping Unai Emery’s side to the impressive win was winger Leon Bailey, who netted the second goal of the night in the 60th minute.
Ollie Watkins, Jhon Duran and Moussa Diaby also found the back of the net in the fantastic victory, with the English side now set to take on French outfit Lille in the next round.
As per The Coaches’ Voice (14 March), Emery has now led Villa to their first European knockout win since 1998.
Bailey particularly shone, with the Jamaican international impressing in various areas alongside his superb goal, which came via his weaker right foot.
As per Sofascore, the attacker won three of his four ground duels, completed 76% of his passes, and completed two of his three dribbles during his 74 minutes on the pitch.

Impressed by his latest strike was Sky Sports pundit Lee Hendrie, who was blown away by the footwork and finish that helped Villa secure a Europa Conference League last-eight spot.
“Brilliant goal for Villa,” Hendrie said live on Sky Sports News (9.25pm, 14 March). “Ajax got caught in possession. It felt like Bailey did about 15 stepovers!”
The top display also resulted in the winger being handed the Player of the Match award, as per the official Aston Villa X account (15 March).
