Aston Villa: Unai Emery must hand Morgan Rogers start v Tottenham after 83% Ajax masterclass
Aston Villa will certainly be fatigued after their trip to Ajax, but there is no time to rest as the games keep coming thick and fast.
Having drawn 0-0 with the Dutch giants in their Europa Conference League round of 16 first leg clash on Thursday (7 March), Unai Emery’s side now host Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League action on Sunday (10 March).
In order to keep his squad as fresh as possible, the manager is certain to ring in the changes for the Villa Park clash.
But one risk he might just take is keeping the faith with January signing Morgan Rogers, with the 21-year-old having made his full Villa debut against Ajax.
And while it may not have been a memorable result, it was certainly an impressive display from the attacker.
As per Sofascore, Rogers completed 83% of his passes, won seven of his 10 duels, was successful with five of his six dribble attempts, and made one tackle during his 63 minutes on the pitch.
Will Aston Villa boss Unai Emery start Morgan Rogers versus Tottenham Hotspur?
While the 21-year-old is yet to create a goal from his four Aston Villa appearances so far, he boasts seven goals and nine assists this season from his Middlesbrough matches.
The versatile attacker could certainly break his duck should Emery hand him a start against Tottenham, a side that will definitely give Villa plenty of chances given Ange Postecoglou’s free-flowing style of play.

It is, however, a very important game for Emery’s outfit given how it is fourth versus fifth in the table, meaning Rogers could make way for the more experienced players in the squad.
