Aston Villa injury news: Doctor compares Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings rehab
Emiliano Buendia appears to be behind his Aston Villa teammate Tyrone Mings in terms of recovery, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
Both Villa players suffered season-ending ACL ruptures back in August 2023, virtually ruling them out for the rest of the season.
The injury expert claims that with Mings returning to individual training, he could be ahead of the Argentina international in his recovery.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News:
“Buendia has been ruled out with an ACL rupture and he’s probably behind Mings in terms of his recovery.
“The updates have usually been the same for both but Mings now appears to be back in individual training.
“If Buendia is to return before the season ends, he would have to be returning to individual training very soon.
“It will be a lengthy process to ensure he’s back to full fitness and will involve increasing intensity and more sport-specific actions.“
Buendia has not played a single Aston Villa game due to injury
Buendia got injured before he could even make a first-team appearance for Villa this season.
The club made an announcement on 10 August that he damaged his knee ligament in training and it was a significant one.

The next step for Buendia will be to return to individual training with him gradually getting up to speed to be available for the first team which is likely to be next season.
