Aston Villa: Broadcaster shares whether Unai Emery could leave Villa Park for Bayern Munich job

Unai Emery is unlikely to leave Aston Villa to join Bayern Munich despite recent reports linking him with the job, according to Ty Bracey.

The German sports magazine kicker reported on 21 February (via Ronan Murphy) that the Villa boss is one of the names being considered by the Bundesliga giants to replace Thomas Tuchel when he leaves the club at the end of the season.

But Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported in his Daily Briefing on 24 February that the Spaniard is 100 per cent focused on his job at Villa Park despite being linked with a move to Germany.

Bracey believes Emery would be “silly” to leave the Villans now as he joined the club after being impressed by the project and things are currently going well for him back in the Premier League.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “There are obviously rumours flying around, but I’m not concerned.

“Unai Emery said yes to us because of the project and I think he’d be silly to leave when the project is going so well, more than anything for his own personal CV.

“I think leaving now wouldn’t hinder his CV by any means, but he openly said the reason why he jumped on board with Villa was because of the project.

“For him to leave after a year, I don’t think that’s going to happen.”

Could Unai Emery leave Aston Villa for Bayern Munich?

There is no doubt that the prospect of joining Bayern would be something most managers would at least consider because they are a massive club and Champions League football is pretty much guaranteed.

But as Bracey points out, Emery joined Villa because he was impressed by the project and he’s had a great first 15 months at Villa Park.

It’s unlikely he would leave all of that behind to take on a job where the expectations are so high and there is no guarantee that you’re going to get time to implement your style.
