Aston Villa: Ty Bracey thrilled as ‘unreal’ Villa Park development emerges
Aston Villa have been paired against Ajax in the Europa Conference League and Ty Bracey believes it’s an “unreal” draw for the club.
Villa were pulled out of the hat alongside the Dutch giants when the last-16 draw took place in Switzerland on Friday (23 February), with the first leg set to take place in Amsterdam on 7 March.
Unai Emery’s side secured their place in the knockout rounds of the competition after four victories and a draw ensured they topped the group ahead of Polish side Legia Warsaw.
Bracey revealed that he is “absolutely buzzing” to see the Villans take on the Eredivisie club as he believes they have more than enough quality at their disposal to make it through to the next round.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “Ajax is an unreal draw. The last time we played them was 2008/09, so it’s been a while since we’ve seen them.
“That’s going to be a real test. I know Ajax aren’t having the greatest season this year, but I’m absolutely buzzing to see Villa against Ajax. What a fixture that’s going to be.

“The game won’t be easy, it’s not going to be a pushover. But it’s one we can definitely get something from, so we need to go into it all guns blazing and with a good squad.
“This could be Unai Emery’s first shot at silverware with Aston Villa.
“I’m adamant that when we’re up to our game and playing good football, we can go toe-to-toe with anyone and we’ve shown that this season.”
Aston Villa could go all the way in Europa Conference League
As Bracey points out, Villa are a quality outfit on their day and they have a great chance of securing their first trophy under Emery.
Ajax have been on the up over the past few months after an extremely difficult start to the season and it will be a big occasion when the two sides go head-to-head.
But if the Villans can come away from Amsterdam with a decent result, they will be more than confident of finishing the job off at Villa Park.
