Aston Villa: Ty Bracey reacts as footage emerges on Jaden Philogene at Hull City
Aston Villa academy product Jaden Philogene performed a “moment of magic” for Hull City against Rotherham United, according to Ty Bracey.
Footage emerged on social media of the 22-year-old after he showed an excellent piece of skill for the Tigers in their 2-1 victory over the Millers on 13 February.
The England U-21 international has been in fine form for the Championship side this season, having scored eight goals and laid on six assists in 19 appearances since making the £5million move from Villa last summer.
Bracey doesn’t know whether or not the winger could return to Villa Park after a £15million buy-back clause was included in the deal.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bracey said: “It looks great from certain angles in videos, but it is an own goal.
“There was a huge deflection and it was probably going out of play, but it’s a shame really because it was a moment of magic.
“It’s disappointing for him, but it was a nice bit of skill and they got a goal out of it in the end, so fair play to him.
“I don’t know if he could return to Villa in the future after leaving the club last summer.”
Jaden Philogene could return to Aston Villa
It was a surprise to many when Philogene left Villa last summer after he featured heavily under Unai Emery in pre-season.
The transfer fee he joined Hull for is also starting to look extremely cheap, but the Villans do have the buy-back clause up their sleeve should they choose to exercise it.
If he continues to put in promising performances as he looks to help the Tigers secure promotion to the Premier League this season, then Emery could have a decision to make on the winger.
