Ex-Aston Villa Scout shares ‘perfect’ Tim Iroegbunam verdict after Villa Park development
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery could hand minutes to Tim Iroegbunam, if the boss and his staff believe he is good enough.
That is according to former Villa Park scout Bryan King after an injury to fellow midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
As reported by BBC Sport (16 February), Kamara will miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury suffered against Manchester United earlier this month.
Speaking to Villa News, King said: “It’s the perfect opportunity, if Emery and the staff think that he is good enough. Maybe the chance has come quicker than they thought it was going to be, and you can only find that by playing him.
“It’s always difficult for a young player at that level, but at some stage he’s going to be thrown into the arena, and if this is the opportunity for Emery to do it, then you’ll soon know whether Iroegbunam is going to be the article or not.”
Aston Villa to call upon Iroegbunam?
It will definitely be interesting to see how Emery lines up in the coming months amid the absence of Kamara.
The midfielder has been a key player this season, and his absence will certainly be felt, both domestically and in Europe.

Young star Iroegbunam could get the call-up, but there is a very real chance that Youri Tielemans slots into a midfield role on a regular basis, while Jacob Ramsey represents another option for Emery.
